Now the Ryots couldn't rely upon slaves for his or her agricultural activities because their slaves ended up enrolled in the army in a few sites. Apart from shelling out larger taxes they had to endure the additional accountability of feeding the slaves and funding their marriages. This led for the weakening of the program of slavery in Mysore.[59]
